History. Madman Across the Water was the fourth studio album released by Elton John, as well as his third album to be released in , at which point John had been rising to prominence as a popular music contains 9 tracks, each composed and performed by John and with lyrics written by songwriting partner Bernie Taupin as with his previous Trident, London.

"Indian Sunset" is another highlight bringing Elton and Bernie back to the old west of "Tumbleweed Connection". The last 3 songs "Rotten Peaches", "All The Nasties" and "Goodbye" are a slight step down from the rest of the album, but still good songs. If you are an Elton John fan "Madman Across The Water" is a must own album/5().

Trading the cinematic aspirations of Tumbleweed Connection for a tentative stab at prog rock, Elton John and Bernie Taupin delivered another excellent collection of songs with Madman Across the its two predecessors, Madman Across the Water is driven by the sweeping string arrangements of Paul Buckmaster, who gives the songs here a richly dark and 9/

Jan 12,  · Rotten Peaches is a B-side. It flows well within the album tracking, but it is pure filler. All The Nasties is my favourite song from the album. It astonishes me that this song hasn't made any of his career perspective compilations. Elton John is clearly greater than a single compilation will allow.

Madman Across the Water Lyrics: I can see very well / There's a boat on the reef with a broken back / And I can see it very well / There's a joke and I know it very well / It's one of those that I.
